Back to School?
Puff and Buzz have been off track since before Christmas. Track A started again on Tuesday. I knew there was going to be problems. I was right.
Puff complained, but she went. Buzz had a temperature the night before. I let him stay home. All well and good, until the next day.
Wednesday morning Buzz asked me to take his temperature again. I knew he was hoping to have his fever. As soon as I told Buzz it was normal, he started rubbing his eyes and the tears came profusely. He was scared to go to school.
Year round school is hard for my little guy. Every time we start a new track, Buzz is starting a new school year. We both dread it.
I sent Puff to school, next Choo and then I turned my attention to Buzz.
"What if I get hurt at recess? I hate math! I can't do the work right!"
Michael was home on conference calls.
We were weak. We let Buzz stayed home again with the understanding that tomorrow was school.
It was a long day without the Wii, his DS or the computer.
In the early evening Buzz began complaining that he was bored. He tried to negotiate with me.
"If you let me watch youtube, you can ground me from something else tomorrow. I'm so stupid. I wish I would have went to school. I want to go to school now." (It was after 5pm when he said this.)
It was a long few hours until daddy got home.
Buzz went to school this morning. He was brave. I was proud of him. Right before he went out the door, he looked at me with those sad eyes, "I'm still scared."
Protect my tender mommy heart! Please, please, please let him have a good day today!

Hopefully he survived and wasn't too freaked out by the lock down drill. What a great day to go back to school!
